Description: Charlie McDonnell has finally made some more Fun Science videos, most notably one on evolution. And I am an evolutionary biologist who has been studying the topic for the last seven years. Naturally I was going to have some quibbles with his video, so here are the 6 mistakes/issues/misconception/bad explanations. If you liked this video and you’re in the Oxford area, I’m actually interviewing Charlie about his Fun Science book in the Sheldonian Theatre on 27th April, tickets here: scienceoxford.com/events/charlie-mcdonnell-sheldonian Sorry this video has been so long in the making. I actually filmed it when I went home for the Christmas holidays (hence why I’m still blonde), but life has rather taken over in the last few months, most notably the sudden closure of my lab building which has had a huge impact on my PhD (see my Twitter for updates). Basically, I needed to focus my time and mental effort on staying sane and healthy, which meant YouTubing fell to the bottom of my priority list. I will, however, be making more of an effort in the next few months, even if it’s just editing and posting the other videos I already have filmed, plus I’ll be going to VidConEU in April, so hopefully I’ll get to do some more Sofa Sciences when I’m there.
